To find any companion in the game, follow the following instructions: 1. Press 'n' to bring up the Encyclopedia. 2. Go to the 'heroes' tab. 3. Scroll down and filter (on the left tab) under occupation the 'Wanderer'. 4. This lists all the available companions with their location and skills.
To find a companion to hire, head to any large town on the map. Once you have reached a town, head for the local tavern. Select the option ‘ Go to the tavern district ‘. At this screen you can see all of the wanderers present in the local tavern. They can be found in the slots at the top right of the screen.

If you wish to maximize your number of companions, you can choose 2-3 from the top circle and 4-5 from the bottom circle that are not touching. The two-way arrows indicates companions that like each other, which can help balance dislikes, increasing the effective limit. In Mount&Blade you are not the only hero. zCdfju.
